SITE VISITS
TechShop is an innovative membership-based workshop that provides members and SU participants with access to a wide variety of machinery and tools including laser and plasma cutters, and 3-D printers. Techshop provides instruction and a community of creative people so they can build the things they have always wanted to make without buying the equipment.
As part of their corporate sponsorship, Autodesk has hosted every Executive Program class since the founding of Singularity University. The visit to Autodesk headquarters includes access to a showroom of products made with autodesk products as well as a presentation by Autodesk’s visionary executives on the future of computer assisted design and three dimensional printing.
Startup Halcyon Molecular is a popular site visit for our executive participants. Halcyon has developed a method for reading the sequence of labeled DNA bases by transmission electron microscopy. Halcyon Molecular’s nano-robotics and single-atom detection approach will enable megabase single-molecule reads in milliseconds.

INDUSTRY DISCUSSIONS
How will projected breakthroughs and converging technologies affect specific industries within the next three to twenty years? Roadmaps for each participant’s industry are developed through discussions and feedback with faculty, staff, and other participants on how exponential technologies will affect their specific sectors.
WORKSHOPS
Executive Program workshops typically are a more in depth examination of some of the principles discussed during the lectures. Past workshops have included implications and applications of AI & Robotics and Nanofactories to TED type presentations and discussions of Biotechnology and Medicine breakthroughs. Many workshops are less technical and explore topics such as the political, legal, & ethical implications of the new and exciting exponentially accelerating technologies.
EXPERIENCE
The executive program experience is an intense dive into accelerating technological change in an intimate forum with world experts and leading thinkers from across the technology tracks. Participants live at NASA for the entirety of the program, venturing out for site visits, workshops and networking activities. An optional Wellness Program gives participants the opportunity to explore new lifestyle choices for diet, physical activities, and fun in a quantified way.
